Syntax:

ping "IPaddr", [numPings]

This command sends an ICMP ECHO_REQUEST packets to a network

host, specified by the parameter IPaddr in dotted notation. The host that

matches the destination address in the packets responds to the request.

If a response is not returned in less than 5 seconds, the sender times out.

You can use this command to determine whether other hosts or VGMCs

are properly communicating with the sender card. The command also

works on the Signaling Server.

The parameter numPings specifies the number of packets to receive; if

omitted, pings continue until you type Ctrl+C. Otherwise, pings are sent

until the specified number of responses are received. The percentage of

packet loss is then calculated from the ratio of received to sent messages.
